This year I decided to do a “read through the Bible in a year” program. So far we have gone through the entire New Testament, and last month began the journey into the Old Testament. I joined a group on MeWe so we hold each other accountable and make it more likely that we will stick to it. What I love about the plan being used in the group is that we follow each book from start to finish before going on to the next. Right now we are in the book of Job (pronounced Yobe in Hebrew) because we are following a chronological order. What I like to do is seek out other sources after reading a passage to see what other people have found in reading the text. It can lead to new insights or simply lend a fresh perspective on something that I’ve read so often that I skim over it too quickly and lose some of the wonder of what’s there fresh for the finding today.
Learning is a never ending process, an eternal quest for us who are saved by the blood of Christ. π
One of the gems I came across today:
Job 34:2-4“Hear my words, you wise men, and give ear to me, you who know;
for the ear tests words as the palate tastes food.
Let us choose what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good.
Hi Susan,
ReplyDeletejust answered your comment on my blog. I totally agree with what you have written in this post, it is not just a never ending story with us but also a never ending journey with the Lord while we are on this earth. I love learning His ways, and all the trials that we go through are just there to strengthen us. That scripture from Job that you have mentioned is another lovely Word from our God to strengthen us. God bless you Susan as you continue to share what you have been given to share.
Hey!!! It’s working!!! Thanks so much Brenda for your perseverance and for how faithful you are in sharing the Lord’s gift to you of poetry for His praise and worship. I am so thankful for you and Aritha and Laurie. ❤️❤️❤️
DeleteI'm thankful for all of you as well, and also for your return, Susan! God bless.
DeleteHi Susan,
DeleteThe Bible is truly a living Book that gives us new insights each time we read from it. My husband and I have been blessed to follow a program in which we read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice in a year. Each reading, new discoveries! Thanks for the great post and God bless! Laurie
Greetings Laurie! I’ve read through the entire Bible once before, many years ago, and since that time only remained in the NT. There is so much in the OT that points to the NT and to Jesus. Many Jewish people are beginning to have their eyes opened more than ever before seeing that Jesus is Messiah and God of creation. There are of course many other signs of birth pains as well... it means Jesus return is very soon indeed. Exciting times!
DeleteOops, oh, and thank you for stopping by to chat, Laurie, my google account has been very glitchy still, and I don’t know how much longer I can share on this platform, but I enjoy the fellowshipping here very much ❤️ππΌ

Hallo Aritha, het is goed hier met onz. I have been very busy with gardening and some changes around our home…with C-19 we took the time to do some things that needed to get done around the house and property. But everything is very good. I hope all is well with you too. I’ve dropped off of the blogging map for a while, partly because it has gotten very difficult for me to answer comments. Not sur this will even work…
DeleteYay! It works now ❤️ππΌ
