End Times and Other Speculations

Disclaimer: I have no idea about anything definite regarding the end times, Armageddon, the Gog Magog War, the new millenium, except for the vague mental pictures we get from scripture.

These things are so mind-boggling to me, and I know that speculations abound, and have succumbed to some speculating myself, however, the truth is what it is and sometimes we just won't know until the day we see it happening. In the meantime Jesus only cautioned us to understand the times from the point of being aware of today, this moment in time. He does not require that we understand everything about what will happen tomorrow, next week, or next year, but to remain faithful and aware today, to keep our eyes open and lifted up in anticipation that it can be any time....and in fact if I were to die today, my next moment of what I will experience will be what is often called "the rapture" or the resurrection of the saints (some might also speculate that we will have awareness between that time of our death and the time our body is reunited with our spirit to again be a living soul...I guess we will know for sure when that happens.

I was watching a few Youtube videos about the Gog Magog War, and a few different ideas circulating about what it is and when it will happen....and it made me realize that with all of scripture the Lord wisely gives us just enough "manna" for today. He knows that our puny brains would implode with all that He knows, so He gives us just enough for today. As Jesus put it:

Matthew 6:33-34  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.   Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. 

Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.  (KJV)

So true.

So when I read the scriptures, I store away treasures that as the Lord sees the need, will bring to my remembrance and understanding the need of them for each day as it comes. I can learn from Mary:

Luke 2:19  But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. (KJV)

There is so much that we do not know, but so much that has already been revealed to give us enough food for thought to get us through the evil that will face us today, and Jesus promised that tomorrow would take care of itself, and we would be wise to continue to seek His righteousness (prayer).

Conspiracy Theories and Where I am Now...

For quite a while I really "was into" reading, watching Youtube videos, listening to audio interviews etc, on anything that could be lumped into the category of "conspiracy theory". I say "was" like in "time past" AND however, I still agree that the "official version" of what happened to JFK and 9/11 is probably not "what really happened", and after watching hours of videos of the evidence for and against the U.S. landing on the moon, I still think we ( and by "we" here I mean a human being) never set foot on the moon.

 Well, can't say I ever went *that* far lol...

But be that as it may (I may or may not be right about any or all of that) it REALLY DOESN'T MATTER in the eternal sense of who I am in Christ. This world is going to hell in a handbasket, and I think anyone who has his head screwed on straight should know that by now, so knowing what the Bildebergers say behind closed doors, or knowing who belongs to the Illuminati club, really doesn't add or subtract from the plans God has for those who love Him.
*We (and by "we" here I mean those who are in Christ Jesus, washed and regenerated by His blood) are not of this world, and nothing that this world can do to us can thwart what God has in store for us, nothing.
*We will all die here ....

Joseph Farrell Interview

Very interesting and long (almost 2 hours) interview with Joseph Farrell on Project Camelot. He mentions and documents the Nazi underpinnings of what we see going on all around us today. His hobby is physics so he goes into some of the things the Nazis worked on, which continued on here through project paperclip, NASA, etc (yeah I've heard all that before too, but he ties up some of the loose ends, wow) and near the end they touch on Obama's visit to Berlin (of all places) before becoming the prez....and he says it all is VERY disconcerting for him....and from the comments I gather he is not a Christian, but he is looking at this in a rational way, connecting dots of things that are known to be true and not merely speculated, however he does offer many speculations and theories that he formulates from these things that are verifiable.

The Times of the End

I've been watching some youtube videos by various peoples, including a new ager, about what is going on with UFOs, alien abductions, transhumanism, and also found this little gem:

I'd listened to Tom Horn before (once or twice) so it was nice to see him in this one. He mentions the genetic research that is going on, and gives documentation of it, and tells of one of the guys that is involved in the research who told of waking up at 3am to visions of widespread bloodshed that will happen as a result of this research...that he wrestled with these thoughts, fears, images, and decided that it is research that needs to go on (!) and that it is worth the potential death and destruction.

Some of his comments in this lecture took me in other directions which led to looking up the latest of some of the things DARPA is doing:

Sniper vehicle link

Snipers are a dangerous threat in hostile environments. DARPA's Counter-Sniper Program is working on technology to automatically sense, track, and return fire on snipers. The C-Sniper system will operate day or night from a moving vehicle and give the operator information to make split-second decisions.

 I saw something on PBS about the recent military advancements and the effects it has on military personnel. It showed one soldier who could "go to work" on the battlefield from a remote place through a computer site. He could view his terrain on a computer screen and kill people like they were computer generated people, but these were real people he was killing, like it was a video game. Then he would go home to his family at night, and leave in the morning to do it again. They said these soldiers sometimes break down and have something similar to PTSS because a part of them knows they are killing real people, even though they are completely detached from the horror, the blood, the "clean up" (if there is any) etc.

And then there is this by Russ Dizdar:

One of the links I listened to either yesterday or the day before yesterday, I don't remember the link anymore, made an interesting assumption or theory. The speaker said that in the Bible the king who would attack from the north is referring to a "king" that comes from a spiritual realm and not a physical country. To make his case he said that when the Bible speaks of "height, and depth, and length and breadth" the "height" refers to a spiritual realm, and that satan and his angels have not yet been cast to earth but that when that time comes all hell will literally break loose, and that is when the king of the north will come to attack us on the earth. There is already a lot of "contact" with these entities, so the time is coming soon.

We need to be aware of what is going on here, and also remember all the while:

I was roaming around the internet looking at other people's thoughts on various blogs, and came across some comments about Kony 2012 and how we need to get rid of Kony who according to the person's blog that I was reading, was equivalent to the antichrist (or almost). So I did some looking around...and found out some things.

This young lady is from Uganda, and although she lives outside of Uganda, she states that she still visits there regularly. She says the campaign against Kony is a bunch of B.S. So I had to wonder: "Then what is going on?" Please watch what she has to say, and then consider Alex Jones comments to follow:

 

Some might not like Alex Jones....I agree with him much of the time (not all, but I do agree with him on this one)...the clip in the beginning shows Obama talking, saying:

"Do I think our actions in any way VIOLATE the war powers resolution? (please check link, and yes he does violate the war powers resolution) The answer is "no". So I don't even have to get to the Constitutional question."

...um, wait, look at that comment again...wasn't his oath to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA????????????? what is he talking about? Watch this video carefully, and watch what Leon Panetta at the very start of this clip says about sidestepping Congress and the response "What I hear you saying is we are going to seek international approval and then tell the Congress what we are going to do"....wow...

George Galloway

I want to begin this blog entry by explaining a few things about labels such as "Zionist" and "Muslims" which are emotionally linked word bombs. If we remember to keep in mind that we are talking about PEOPLE that are lumped into group categories (which is very racist, btw) and which I am guilty of also when I use the term "Christian Zionists"  to describe those people who claim they are Christians and support the bombing of innocent people to claim support for Israel, when Jesus only told His followers to pray for Israel, and to pray (not bomb) our enemies. Now, keeping that in mind, take a look at this video clip:

I am not anti-Israel or anti-Semitic, or pro-Muslim. I am for reaching people with the gospel (good news) and for praying for people, Israel, Muslims, Catholics, pretribbers, etc, people that may not have all their facts right (and who of us has all of our facts right?). Listen to the next one not with a prejudiced mind that has been poisoned with hatred for a perceived enemy (and remember what Jesus said we should do for our enemies, perceived or real?):

These are difficult to watch, I agree, especially after years of indoctrination into believing a lie. Again, I want to stress that I'm not anti-Semitic, and if you listen to the next one all the way through without a prejudiced mindset, you will hear that George isn't anti-Semitic either. He asks a question of a Jewish caller, and in the end, the Jewish caller finds that he agrees with George. Take a listen:

Who gave Great Britain the right to give away someone else's land? At one time I would have answered like the Jewish caller did at the beginning of the conversation. But truly, was the Lord in that agreement? He allowed things to happen, just like He allows alot of things to happen, but was it the Lord giving the Zionists the land? Or was it the strong arm of flesh? Was it man trying to force something and then call it the will of God? Are we supposed to support such a thing?

Christian Zionism

Please prayerfully consider the sobering words in this video, it's an hour long, and it can be listened to while doing other things because it is an audio with pictures, if you can at least listen to what is said, it is well worth your consideration. There are many tricks up the devil's sleeve, and who does he want to misdirect most if not the church? If he can get church attenders to do things "in Jesus name" that are completely against the golden rule of "Love God above all and your neighbor as yourself" and to "Pray for Israel" and "Pray for your enemies" by thinking it is perfectly Christian to bomb our perceived enemies and support policies which state such, are we not making the truth of God evil spoken of?

Zionism, Mossad, the True Remnant, and Antisemitism

Wow, how's that for a topic? I was looking at several 9/11 truth videos, and a few pointed to the Mossad and Israel as being the real culprits behind the attacks, and that when it is revealed, the U.S. will be so angry that she will destroy Israel, wiping Israel completely off the earth was one way one of the speakers put it. It may be so that there were Zionist factions behind what happened on September 11th 2001, there are some suspicious occurrences which make it seem possible, even probable, that Israel had something to do with it. And what if that were so? What if the truth comes out, and the truth points directly and unavoidably at Israel being at the very core of all that mess to get us to bomb all her enemies to kingdom come? Is it a Christian response to bomb Israel off the face of the earth?

I personally do believe there were Zionists (both Christian and Jewish) who were "in the know" and involved in at very least allowing or facilitating and assisting (if not in the actual planning and full carrying out) in the 9/11 atrocities. I do not agree with the "eye for an eye" system of justice. As the saying goes, if we play by that rule, we would all be blind, and I do believe the Lord wants us to see what He is going to do. Yes, Israel has made mistakes, so has the United States, and any other country you want to name. We've all blundered as individuals, and as nations, we all fall short of perfection. Why is the world's solution to viciously repay for any wrongdoing, perceived and otherwise?

Jesus said to "watch and pray". I believe His solution is best. He will handle everything perfectly in His time. The world will continue to wage wars for all kinds of reasons. I personally believe that the main reason wars are fought is because there are bloodthirsty people that want to continue the atrocities. We won't stop them, Jesus will at the appointed time. In the meantime, we as His sheep are to watch, and pray.

Wars of Religion

For this assignment we were to read about civil wars that occurred during the high middle ages. We were given an article, I tried to find the original location for this article, but it was removed...but found it here (with that Washington U link at bottom, which was removed)

Anyway...our assignment was to read this article, and then decide if the English Civil War ....(this article was not part of our assignment, but I don't want to type out all that our textbook had to say about it) was a religious war...

So what do YOU think? Was the English Civil War a "religious war"?

Oh well, that's ok. This was an interesting assignment for me because it examined the reasons for people fighting and for feeling justified to kill other people. If you read the linked article it acknowledges the fact that many people in England were fighting about spiritual matters. They were fighting about a prayer book. They fought about the Catholic influence seeping into the Anglican Church. They were angry with Charles for taking a Catholic bride. However the article gives the long time bickering over whether the king should have all the power, or if Parliament (who had been getting used to making some of the decisions) got to share some of that power with the king. The king thought he should have all the power and control of England. Parliament disagreed with him. The people were divided, some backed the king, and some backed Parliament.

This is what I wrote for our assignment:

The religious wars of the 16^th and 17^th centuries were between Protestants and Catholics. It started out with no bloodshed, just a lot of bickering and arguing about whose religion was right, each accusing the other of heresy. But that peace was shattered when “Protestants and Catholics would (later) shed each other's blood in prodigious amounts in national wars and in civil wars.”(from the article: Discovery and Reformation; Reformation Religious Wars). In France it was between the Huguenots (Protestants) and Guises (Catholics). There was already animosity between these families, which were intensified with the spiritual conflicts. “It is important to understand that the rivalry between the Guises and the other two families was primarily a political rivalry; this political rivalry, however, would be swept up in the spiritual conflict between the Catholic church and the new reformed churches.” (Ibid.)
The Guises “understood what this religious tolerance was all about and quickly clamped down on it. In March, 1562, an army led by the Duke of Guise attacked a Protestant church service at Vassy in the province of Champagne and slaughtered everybody they could get their hands on: men, women, and children—all of whom were unarmed. Thus began the French Wars of Religion which were to last for almost forty years and destroy thousands of innocent lives.” (Ibid.)

By comparison, the English Civil War occurred during a time when there were religious factions that didn't like each other in England; the Puritans (Calvinists) and Anglicans. The Anglicans were of two main stripes: one that accepted many of the Catholic traditions minus a pope, and one that didn't accept any of the Catholic rituals. However England's civil war centered around a power struggle between the king and Parliament.

“The English Civil War started in 1642 when Charles I raised his royal standard in Nottingham. The split between Charles and Parliament was such that neither side was willing to back down over the principles that they held and war was inevitable as a way in which all problems could be solved. The country split into those who supported the king and those who supported Parliament – the classic ingredients for a civil war. ” http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/civil_war_england.htm

It didn't help the king that he married a Catholic, it made a difficult relationship with Parliament even more difficult. It caused Parliament to trust the king even less than they already did. The king wanted absolute power, and the Parliament had gotten used to the fact that they had “enjoyed a real partnership with the royal government.” (Concise Survey of Western Civilization; Pavlac; ch 10 page 220) “In June 1642 the Long Parliament passed a new set of demands called the Nineteen Proposals that called for the King's powers to be greatly reduced and a greater control of government to be given to parliament. This move divided parliament between those who supported the Nineteen Proposals and those who thought parliament had gone too far.

Both Parliament and Charles began collecting together their own armies. War was inevitable. People were forced to choose sides and on 22nd August 1642, the King raised his standard at Nottingham” http://www.historyonthenet.com/Civil_War/charlesi.htm

It polarized the people to join either the king's side, or the side of Parliament.

This problem was all resolved in 1688. “In the Glorious Revolution of 1688, the English established the basic system of republican and constitutional government that still exists today...they forced James to flee to France. Parliament then invited James' Protestant daughter Mary to be queen, with her husband William of Orange, as co-ruling king...The victorious Parliament generously approved a small measure of toleration for religious dissenters, both Roman Catholics and Presbyterian Calvinists” (Concise Survey of Western Civilization; Pavlac; page 222)

The way I understand it, this civil war was a power struggle between the king who only wanted a Parliament who would offer him suggestions and remain meekly in the background giving him absolute power, and a Parliament who had gotten used to being able to make some of the rules. It was therefore not a religious war. Religion became a contributing factor to the problem but was not the main issue. Our system of government here in the states today similarly shares a “balance of powers” so no one individual takes totalitarian control that can be abused. All those that make up “the balance of powers” have their problems, just as the king and his Parliament did during the time of England's civil war, but it is preferable to a power hungry absolute dictator. The side of the war I would have picked would be Parliament's side. I would be leery of a king that wanted complete power and was trying to control what the church did, by making it more Catholic to please his bride.
