I am not anti-Israel or anti-Semitic, or pro-Muslim. I am for reaching people with the gospel (good news) and for praying for people, Israel, Muslims, Catholics, pretribbers, etc, people that may not have all their facts right (and who of us has all of our facts right?). Listen to the next one not with a prejudiced mind that has been poisoned with hatred for a perceived enemy (and remember what Jesus said we should do for our enemies, perceived or real?):
These are difficult to watch, I agree, especially after years of indoctrination into believing a lie. Again, I want to stress that I'm not anti-Semitic, and if you listen to the next one all the way through without a prejudiced mindset, you will hear that George isn't anti-Semitic either. He asks a question of a Jewish caller, and in the end, the Jewish caller finds that he agrees with George. Take a listen:
Who gave Great Britain the right to give away someone else's land? At one time I would have answered like the Jewish caller did at the beginning of the conversation. But truly, was the Lord in that agreement? He allowed things to happen, just like He allows alot of things to happen, but was it the Lord giving the Zionists the land? Or was it the strong arm of flesh? Was it man trying to force something and then call it the will of God? Are we supposed to support such a thing?
I really don't know.
ReplyDeleteThe OT is full of God telling people to go to war, so what is with that?
Here is a post I read today where the writer honestly struggles about what portions of the bible do we use and what ones do we rationalize or explain away?

I agree that the OT is full of war, Israel warring against other nations...but it is the LORD leading them to do so. Can you honestly say that is the case today? Jesus didn't commission the Church to enter into any kind of war, or I would think you have a point (but I must admit I used to believe that way too)
ReplyDeleteI believe what the NT says about the OT, that it is for our learning, and the NT tells about the greater war, the war in our spirit, and that THAT war has already been won, BY HIM. I see the OT wars that Israel waged as historical, but also as representative of the the kind of war going on spiritually against satan himself, not against people. After the cross, Christians were commissioned to face their accusers and enemies with a spirit of love and compassion (I admit that I have a long way to go on this one, but I have yet to go get a gun and use it on anyone...and I don't intend to do that!)
Jesus told His disciples that there would be wars:
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
and does He say to enter into them and to encourage it? To be cheerleaders for one side over another? What does He say?:
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Hmmm, sounds like those that enter into fighting and hating are not really in a good place, doesn't it?:
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
I think we are very close to "the end"... :)
Over the last 5 years I have read the historical account of the 20th century ( and really since 1450 AD) remolding of the world into the present "new world order". I have had my entire education, secular, political, and denominational stood upon its head. Access to the actual governmental and first person accounts in events documentation of world events on the internet has been the great revealer of history.
ReplyDelete(Has anybody else noticed that spell checker insists that internet be capitalized as Internet?)
I've come to think as George Galloway on the issue of Israel and Zionism being a British construct. But knowing just why God allowed it to come into being through their machinations is the question and what it means I have not understood and am waiting to see answered.
Indeed "the end" may well be beginning. We have no records of a time in creation that has duplicated the industrial age, the travel age, or the age of the airwaves and the nether atmosphere. Even the age of reading and education for the masses is a modern phenomenon to us.
Or is it just that we don't have record of these things perhaps from the time past, Tower of Babble?
For it is written in; Ecclesiastes 1:9 " ...thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."
Commentaries seem to think Solomon was rather meaning the comparison between eternal things of God and temporal limited patterns of things of the earth.
Anyhow we'll see. And knowing the Saviour Jesus Christ as our eternal Door into God's adoption is all we essentially have to have. :)

DeleteWORD.
That is what I am waiting to see answered, too.
God allowed (caused) this to happen, so there must be a reason for it.
There's alot that Jesus is allowing right now that I don't necessarily agree with, but He did promise to set it all straight in His time. In the meantime, He does want us to take a stand for as much as He gives our understanding to know of right and wrong. It won't make me popular (I've come to find out...especially amongst those who label themselves as Christian) and yet that is also as Jesus has allowed it to be at the present time...there are so many things that have turned me upside down and inside out, so many things that have had me look twice, three times, and still look up to ask Jesus to please show me what is going on because it makes so little sense to me. Romans 8:28 is ever present to remind me that the end of all of it is to remind us that no one is good, only God. :) AND THAT is as it should be :D
ReplyDeleteI can see the reply button from my end here. It looks like it's working fine:)
ReplyDeleteSorry, off topic.
But, here's the link I used to fix it on my blog.

Hi Ma,
DeleteI looked around, and didn't really change anything (except I did remove the word prompt to submit a comment, always disliked those), but it seems to be working now (I have no idea why I could't get it to work earlier, nor why it is working now)
Thank you for helping (?) lol
